Biography

Ekii Emmanuel was born in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon in the early 90s. He started fiddling with the piano before he was 2 years old and proceeded to get into church and gospel music considering his strong Christian background. His music roots come from lots of choral and religious music, as well as the variety and music genres his parents listened to. Despite the efforts of the Christian family to bring up their boy in the best ways possible, Ekii had a peaceful and angelic childhood but his adolescence took a different turn.

He tells his story in portions in his lyrics about his very troubled adolescence with the streets, the music he so eagerly wanted to get into, the street hustle and the drugs. After a very controversial childhood and lots of school drama, Ekii decided to pursue his dream. One turning point led to another and he completed his secondary school studies in General Education and moved to Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon to study Law. After two years he decided to drop out and fully give into his music career.
